What Is a Glutathione Drip?
Glutathione is the body's most powerful endogenous antioxidant — a tripeptide naturally produced in every cell that neutralises free radicals, supports immune function, detoxifies the liver, and plays a central role in skin tone regulation. As we age, stress accumulates, and environmental exposure increases, natural glutathione levels decline — leading to dull skin, uneven pigmentation, and slower cellular repair. A glutathione drip delivers this master antioxidant directly into your bloodstream via an intravenous infusion, bypassing the digestive system entirely. This allows near-complete absorption — far superior to oral supplements, which are largely broken down before reaching circulation. At Panache, high-dose glutathione infusions are offered as part of a tailored IV therapy protocol — prescribed and supervised by Dr. Ankit Gupta — designed to brighten skin, reduce pigmentation, support liver detoxification, and promote overall cellular health.
What Does It Do?
Glutathione works on multiple levels simultaneously — it is not a single-function treatment but a systemic intervention that benefits the skin, immune system, and internal organs together.
- Skin brightening — inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin (pigment) production, leading to a progressively lighter, more even complexion
- Pigmentation reduction — fades dark spots, post-acne marks, sun damage, and melasma over a course of sessions
- Antioxidant protection — neutralises free radicals that damage skin cells and accelerate aging
- Liver detoxification — supports the liver's natural detox pathways, leading to clearer skin and improved energy
- Anti-aging — reduces oxidative stress at the cellular level, slowing the processes that lead to wrinkles and loss of skin vitality
- Immune support — strengthens the immune system and reduces systemic inflammation
- Overall glow and radiance — most patients notice a significant improvement in skin luminosity even after a single session
Who Is It For?
The glutathione drip is suitable for a wide range of patients and concerns — from those seeking a general skin glow to those targeting specific pigmentation issues.
- Dull, tired, or lacklustre skin that doesn't respond to topical products
- Uneven skin tone or patchy complexion
- Stubborn dark spots, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or sun damage
- Melasma — particularly as an adjunct to laser and topical treatments
- Patients who have recently completed a course of chemical peels or laser and want to maintain and enhance results
- Those seeking a general antioxidant and wellness boost
- Pre-event or pre-wedding glow enhancement
Glutathione drips are not a skin-whitening treatment in the medical sense — they work by reducing excess melanin production and improving overall skin clarity. Results vary based on baseline skin tone, lifestyle, and the number of sessions completed.
The Treatment Protocol
A glutathione drip session at Panache is a calm, clinical experience. The protocol — dose, formulation, and frequency — is determined by Dr. Ankit Gupta based on your skin concerns and health profile, then administered by our trained clinical team.
Dr. Ankit reviews your medical history, current medications, and skin concerns before recommending a protocol. Patients with known kidney or liver conditions may require blood tests before starting.
A fine cannula is placed in a vein in your arm — a quick, minimally uncomfortable process. You'll be comfortably seated or reclined throughout the session.
The glutathione solution — typically combined with Vitamin C (which enhances glutathione absorption and recycling) and saline — is administered slowly over 30–45 minutes. Most patients find the session deeply relaxing.
No downtime whatsoever. You can return to work, apply makeup, and carry on your day immediately. Mild warmth or a brief metallic taste during infusion is normal and temporary.
Most patients begin on a weekly protocol for 6–8 sessions to build up intracellular levels. Once the desired result is achieved, a monthly maintenance session sustains the effects long-term.
Combining With Other Treatments
Glutathione drips work exceptionally well alongside other skin treatments at Panache. Combining modalities accelerates and deepens results.
- Q-Switch Laser + Glutathione Drip — the laser breaks down existing pigment deposits; the drip suppresses new melanin formation. Together, they address pigmentation from two directions simultaneously.
- Chemical Peels + Glutathione Drip — peels resurface and remove damaged skin; the drip supports healing and prevents post-peel hyperpigmentation
- Microneedling + Glutathione Drip — microneedling stimulates collagen; the drip amplifies the skin's regenerative capacity through antioxidant support
- MediFacials + Glutathione Drip — pairing a brightening medifacial with a drip on the same day delivers an exceptional immediate glow
Dr. Ankit can design a combined programme tailored to your specific skin goals and budget. Ask about our bundled protocols at your consultation.
Cost
Glutathione drip pricing depends on the dose, the additional nutrients included (such as Vitamin C), and whether it is booked as a single session or as part of a course. Course bookings are offered at a reduced per-session rate. Pricing is provided transparently at your consultation.
