What is Microneedling?
Microneedling — also called collagen induction therapy — is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a device with fine, sterile needles to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin's surface. These micro-injuries trigger your body's natural wound healing response, stimulating a surge of new collagen and elastin production. The result is smoother, firmer, more even-toned skin over the following weeks. The Process
A microneedling session at Panache is carefully controlled for safety, comfort, and maximum collagen stimulation.
The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied and left for 20–30 minutes to ensure complete comfort during the procedure.
The motorised pen-like device is moved across the skin in systematic passes. Needle depth is adjusted per zone — shallower on delicate areas like under the eyes, deeper on scarred areas like the cheeks.
Immediately after needling, while the micro-channels are open, a hyaluronic acid or growth factor serum is applied. The channels allow dramatically enhanced absorption — up to 300% more than applying to intact skin.
Your skin will appear pink to red, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically resolves within 24–72 hours. Collagen rebuilding continues for 4–6 weeks after each session.
Microneedling with Your Own Growth Factors
For enhanced results, we often combine microneedling with plasma-derived growth factor therapy — sometimes called a 'Vampire Facial.' Your own blood is drawn, processed to concentrate your growth factor-rich plasma, and applied to your skin immediately after microneedling. The open micro-channels allow deep penetration of these growth factors, supercharging collagen production and accelerating healing. This combination is especially effective for acne scars, skin rejuvenation, and anti-aging.
Because the growth factors come from your own blood, there is zero risk of allergic reaction or rejection. It is one of the most natural skin rejuvenation methods available.
Aftercare & Results
Your skin needs gentle care in the days following microneedling to heal optimally and maximise collagen production.
- Redness and mild swelling are normal for 1–3 days — similar to a sunburn
- Avoid makeup for 12–24 hours post-treatment
- Use only gentle, hydrating products (hyaluronic acid, ceramides) for the first 3 days
- Avoid retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C serums, and exfoliants for 5–7 days
- Apply SPF 50 sunscreen daily — your skin is more sun-sensitive after treatment
- Avoid swimming pools, saunas, and intense exercise for 48 hours
- Initial glow appears within 1–2 weeks; full collagen remodelling takes 4–6 weeks
- Most patients see significant improvement after 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart
