What is Growth Factor Therapy?
Growth factor therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses concentrated growth factors extracted from your own blood to stimulate healing, collagen production, and tissue renewal. A small amount of blood is drawn, processed in a centrifuge to separate the growth factor-rich plasma layer, and then injected or applied to the treatment area. Because the treatment is derived entirely from your own body, there is virtually zero risk of allergic reaction or rejection — making it one of the safest and most natural aesthetic treatments available. At Panache, growth factor therapy is offered for both skin rejuvenation and hair restoration — often combined with microneedling for enhanced results — under clinical supervision and Dr. Ankit Gupta's medical protocols.
What This Therapy Treats
Plasma-derived growth factor therapy has broad applications in both aesthetic medicine and hair restoration. Its regenerative properties make it effective across multiple concerns.
- Hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) — stimulates dormant follicles and strengthens existing hair
- Facial rejuvenation — improves skin tone, texture, and elasticity
- Under-eye dark circles and hollowness — promotes collagen in the delicate periorbital area
- Acne scars — accelerates healing and collagen remodelling when combined with microneedling
- Fine lines and wrinkles — plumps the skin naturally from within
- Dull, tired-looking skin — restores radiance and a healthy glow
- Post-procedure healing — speeds recovery after laser treatments or microneedling
The Process
A treatment session at Panache is straightforward, comfortable, and takes about 45–60 minutes from start to finish.
A small amount of blood (typically 15–20ml — similar to a routine blood test) is drawn from your arm.
The blood is placed in a specialised centrifuge that spins at high speed, separating the growth factor-rich plasma from red blood cells. This concentrates the growth factors by 3–5x.
For facial treatments, a topical numbing cream is applied while the plasma is being processed. For scalp treatments, local anaesthesia is used for comfort.
The concentrated growth factors are either injected directly into the target area using fine needles (for hair restoration and deep skin rejuvenation) or applied topically after microneedling (for the Vampire Facial approach).
Growth Factor Therapy for Hair Restoration
This is one of the most evidence-backed non-surgical treatments for hair loss. When injected into the scalp, the concentrated growth factors stimulate dormant hair follicles, improve blood supply to the follicular unit, and strengthen the hair growth cycle. It is effective for both men and women experiencing early to moderate hair thinning.
- Works best for early to moderate androgenetic alopecia (genetic hair loss)
- Stimulates dormant follicles to re-enter the active growth phase
- Thickens existing miniaturised hairs for visibly fuller coverage
- Can be combined with hair transplant surgery for accelerated graft survival
- Typical protocol: 3–4 sessions one month apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months
- Results typically visible within 3–6 months as the hair cycle completes
This therapy is not a cure for baldness and works best for thinning hair rather than completely bald areas. For advanced hair loss, Dr. Ankit may recommend combining it with a hair transplant procedure.
Growth Factor Therapy for Skin Rejuvenation
When used on the face — often called the 'Vampire Facial' — your own plasma-derived growth factors are delivered directly into the skin. This triggers a cascade of collagen and elastin production, improves blood flow, and accelerates cellular turnover. The result is firmer, smoother, more luminous skin that improves progressively over weeks.
- Can be injected directly or applied after microneedling for deeper penetration
- Especially effective for under-eye rejuvenation, where the skin is too delicate for most fillers
- Ideal for patients who prefer a fully natural approach — no synthetic products involved
- Results develop gradually over 3–4 weeks as collagen rebuilds
- 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart recommended for optimal results
Aftercare
Recovery is straightforward, with most patients returning to normal activities the same day.
- Mild redness and swelling at injection sites is normal and resolves within 24–48 hours
- For scalp treatment: avoid washing hair for 12 hours; avoid harsh chemical treatments for 48 hours
- For facial treatment: avoid makeup for 12 hours; use gentle skincare only for 24 hours
- Avoid blood thinners, alcohol, and intense exercise for 24 hours
- Apply sunscreen (SPF 50) on treated facial areas
- Full results develop over 3–6 months as new collagen forms and hair follicles respond
Cost
Pricing depends on the treatment area (face, scalp, or combination) and whether it is combined with microneedling. We provide complete pricing transparency during your consultation so you can plan your treatment with confidence.
