The fat that cushions your eyeball is held in place by a thin membrane called the orbital septum. With age โ and sometimes genetics โ this septum weakens and the fat herniates forward, creating the characteristic bulge beneath the eye.
No amount of sleep, cold compresses, or eye cream changes this anatomy. The fat has physically shifted. Creams reduce swelling temporarily, but the bulge returns. This is why patients who have "tried everything" still look exhausted โ because the problem was never addressed at its source.
Lower lid blepharoplasty directly corrects the anatomy. The displaced fat is removed or repositioned through a hidden incision inside the eyelid โ no visible scar, permanently smooth contour.
